The New Albany Sheetz opened a couple of months ago. They've been a low price anchor for the area since then, starting at 2.65 for a week and then after prices spiked to $3.19, they went up only a dime to $2.79 and have stayed right there ever since.
It's the longest period of price stability I've seen in the C-BUS area since before I joined GB nearly 13 years ago.

Two new Sheetz have opened since my last post in areas I frequent. The first opened late fall, only about 3 miles or so from the one reported in my previous post.
The latest opened earlier this month just north of John Glenn International Airport, also on US62 but maybe 8 or 9 miles from the one noted in the previous post. I believe another is still under construction the next major street to the west but don't get over there much.
Plus, one county to the east, when I drove up 21st Street in Newark a couple of weeks ago, it appeared a Sheetz was poised to open soon over there.
Sheetz has made quite a splash here!

Both of the Sheetz referenced in the preceding post have opened, one on Cassady Ave about 2 miles from the one just north of the airport as well as the one on N 21st in Newark. Plus another one opened on East Broad, just east of Waggoner in Reynoldsburg across from Meijer and in front of Lowes.
Another one is under construction at the corner of US 40 (National Road) and SR310

I've been eating at SheetZ a lot lately. Their meatball hoagies are a steal at $2 a half. I'll bet they aren't $2 and a half now with inflation blasting. The latest Burger King flyer has the Whopper combo for $6.99 it used to be $5

At least they're getting closer to you. Would not be surprised if they start building in Toledo in a few years

My last job before I retired was down in Monroe Michigan. We had quite a few employees from Ohio working there and some were buckeye fans. I asked one guy what he thought about OSU hiring a coach away from Michigan. He said "I don't want that s*** from up north". I shot back "you don't mind taking your paycheck from that state up north". He had no reply and stomped off. LOL!

Sheetz now has 15 central Ohio locations, including the ones in Delaware and Newark, both of which I've stopped at. I don't know if more are presently under construction but I'm aware of one additional site where they are expected to build, likely once sewer service is extended to that area, about 5 miles SE from the Intel site.
Ed, I'm a Woody Hayes guy. He's the one who coined the term, "the state/school up north" as a substitute for the name of your state. There's a great story in Woody Hayes and the 100 Yard War that relates to it. I found an abbreviated version here that I'll quote below, but will first add a couple of details. The assistant was Ed Ferkany, then a first year coach and he was driving back down I-75 returning from a recruiting trip (Woody was more than willing to mine the state's talent!), probably just about at one of the Monroe exits, when he noticed the tank monitor on E and told Coach they needed to stop and fill up. Woody replied, "Keep driving". This repeated a couple of times at each successive exit until Ferkany finally said something like, 'Woody, we're driving on fumes -- we have to stop and get some gas.' Coach blew up, barking, "Keep driving!" and
So the guy who worked with you in Monroe was not exactly following Woody's rules. But ya gotta do what ya gotta do sometimes, right?

Sheetz convenience store & gas station chain announces plans to open 1st Michigan location in Metro DetroitROMULUS (WWJ) - A popular 24/7 gas station, coffee shop and convivence store chain -- best known for their custom food -- is building its first Michigan location next year, officials announced on Wednesday. As reported by Crain's, Sheetz Inc.. an American chain owned by the Sheetz family, is coming to Romulus at 33380 Wick Road, west of Vining Road, in the latter part of 2024. The Pennsylvania -based company did not specify how many locations they plan to open in Michigan, but Brian Dinges, assistant vice president of real estate for Sheetz, said in an email to Crain's that they have "ambitious plans" to grow throughout the state, as well as into Toledo. "We are excited to open our first store in the state in Romulus," he wrote. <---LOL! Plans for the store and gas station were found in Romulus Planning Commission documents. The store is to be located on the apporximently 211-acre Romulus Trade Center project property and is expected to bring in a staggering $130 million in investments. According to Crain's, the project, in addition to the Sheetz store, includes about 2 million square feet of industrial and warehouse space, expected to bring about 750-1,000 construction jobs and 500 permanent jobs. The Planning Commission documents state that the store will take up 6,900 square feet and there will be 12 vehicle fueling stations and five truck fueling stations under a 4.700-square-foot canopy. While typical Sheetz location carries the essentials, when the property is larger, the company adds other amenities like EV charging stations, walk-in beer and wine coolers and, sometimes, a car wash. Sheetz is most known among its customers for their specialty drinks and made-to-go food menu. The company was founded in 1952 by Bob Sheetz when he purchased one of his father's five dairy stores located in Altoona, Pennsylvania, the company's website states. Over 70 years later, they now have over 700 stores located in Central and Western Pennsylvania, West Virginia, Maryland, Ohio, Virginia and in North Carolina. www.audacy.com/wwjnewsradio/news/local/sheetz-opening-1st-michigan-location-in-metro-detroit?utm_campaign=www.audacy.com%252Fwwjnewsradio&utm_content=1687972709&utm_medium=social&utm_source=twitter&utm_term=WWJ-AMDoesn't sound like it will be a very big Sheetz station.
