Went to see my internist this afternoon to discuss my blood pressure. Between his assistant and the doctor, they took it three times. Every time they took it, it was higher than the time before. He commented about my dose of beta blockers: enough for tremor, but not enough to reduce my blood pressure any significant amount. I asked him if he could recommend a psychiatrist, but it seems that the mdocs and pdocs don't interface a great deal. We also reviewed my April 16th lab work. The only thing he pointed out was the readings for LDL (Less Desirable Lipoprotein) and glucose were slightly higher than normal. Not anything he's going to treat right now, Hemoglobin A1C was normal last time he checked it. I was able to tell him that carvedilol worked quite well, but he pointed out you have to take it twice a day. He also brought up the cost, but I told him it was generic (current price is $6.98 for a 90-day supply). Already take meds twice a day, so that's no great problem. Going in to see him in three weeks, pretty much par for the course when a doctor is titrating meds. He's more concerned about overshooting the target and giving me orthostatic hypotension.

Started feeling bad Saturday afternoon. Ended out at an ER after a trip to an urgent care said I needed the ER instead. They ended out figuring out I was dehydrated, and prescribed a saline IV. They asked me if I'd been out in the heat, but only to get to the ER. I'd been inside with the air conditioning running cold!

In a full-blown hospital today. So far, they have figured out that I don’t have a pulmonary embolism and I haven’t had a heart attack. But the lung CT scan turned up some age related degeneration. They are going to do an echocardiogram probably tomorrow, too late in the day now.

Had my echocardiogram today. Didn’t feel good last night, they ended up giving me a dose of generic Mylanta and two Tylenol last night. They are going to discharge me this afternoon.

Have a safe trip Home Sweet Home Got home a bit before four o'clock in the afternoon. Then, I checked the snail mail and I had a $500 check in the mail. Refund on something that I'd paid for in late March with a credit card that gets a 2% cash rebate, even better than having them pay the refund by crediting my credit card. So, I got out and ran that to the bank. Only about a mile and a half away. Picked up supper from Sonic. Decided to have something that most definitely was not hospital food. Wanted something salty and fried. Although I got five meals in the hospital and pretty much finished off everything except the fake eggs and the breakfast decaf coffee.
They want me to go see my primary care doctor 1-2 weeks from now. Already have an appointment on the 19th.
My housemate AJ decided to have a few beers this afternoon, and he said he'd rather me take an UBER home. Only the second ride I've had using UBER, though I've used UBER EATS a number of times. I talked to my driver. He doesn't do UBER EATS. He works at both HEB and UBER. He also commented that he worked at Kroger at one time, but strongly prefers HEB as a place to work.
