Didn’t get the vancomycin today. Got the other antibiotic infusion today.
Staff read me the riot act about sitting damp with urine. Seems it makes your skin break down. So if you get wet, hit the nurse button.
Got a fresh pull-up this afternoon.
Have stayed dry ever since.
Watching the Houston Astros-Tampa Bay Rays baseball game this evening. Astros ahead 3-1 in the sixth inning.
Wonder when I will get to take a shower. Last time I did was in July. Since then, I have been getting rubdowns with moist disposable antibacterial cloths for cleaning.

Found out today two of my Wednesday curling teammates won't be returning. Our skip found replacement for the first one quickly. Then the other said he was stepping away from the game. He's been a real good teammate. Still looking to replace him. soutxed, the Astros got a seven game winning streak. And at the right time of the year, but have to keep it up. The Mariners got beat 15-1 too. Sounds like a nice Sports Bistro. An id card that tracks a student is a great idea. Now the then we have a missing student. They got off at the wrong stop or were on the wrong bus. That might useful in that case. On the first day of school, some do a staggered start. Grade 6 or 9 only or the first half of the alphabet on the first day. Or some of the families could have moved. By day 3, it should be normal. lorando (NW PA), we sign the papers to get rehired next week. I was asked if I wanted a new unit to drive. My response was, only if it's a Thomas. The new ones are Blue Birds, so I said no. You get to know a bus after awhile. Besides, they got new buses last year and they both had transmission problems. Brand new buses. CKXU is a Not-for-profit radio station, broadcasting from the University of Lethbridge. I never think of listen to it. Perhaps I should. That was a surprise on Monday. The White Sox, easily the worst team in baseball and they beat the Yankees. Were you shocked by the result? As I right this, they are ahead 4-0. Take care everyone.

Good Morning, Uncle. I can see that staying with the well-tested bus that you trust would be an advantage. I've seen both Bluebirds and Thomas buses here, but mostly Thomas/Freightliners. It won't be long! Yes, I kind of figured CKXU was a college station - certainly not in the mainstream. The music in the program I sampled seemed to have an indigenous peoples' sound, mixed with modern folk music. Interesting! Do Native Canadians live mostly on their own traditional lands? My area here was the home of the Seneca People, the most western tribe in the Iroquois Confederation. But I'd guess the native population in the county now is close to 0%. Looks like a fine day. Yankees are back on track, at least for one night.
Hi, Sneakers. Your mom was a wise woman! I had a grocery pickup at 8AM this morning. Got held up by a flock of about 10 turkeys that couldn't decide which side of the street they preferred. It might have been one brood, with mom acting as crossing guard, but the chicks are now pretty good sized, so it might have been just part of a flock. More blood (and from your elbow)! As the comedian, Mitch Hedberg, once said, "Don't ever go to Dr. Acula. All he does is take blood'""
Howdy, soutxed. That C-130 I saw flying above the river was a 4 engine cargo/transport plane, which made it even more impressive at low altitude. Hope your meeting with your financial advisor was helpful. I went to a "fee only" advisor before I retired. I liked the idea that she received no commissions and was not selling anything. Just giving advice and a plan based on the interview and questionnaire. Gas prices are up ten cents this week, with regular at $3.799/gal.

Gas prices are up ten cents this week, with regular at $3.799/gal. Wise to feed me everything or wise about the secular things that churches do? it has been a while since I have had a grocery store visit. Better getting blood from the inside of the elbow than the back of the hand. i am sitting in a wheelchair right now. Kind of saddlesore sitting in bed. Occupational therapist put me in two hospital gowns and took me to the gym for different wiggles. After we got done, she wheeled me to the vending machines. Got a half liter bottle of Diet Dr Pepper. My bottle was $2.10 which is cheaper than Ignite. Had an interview with one of the head honchos here. He asked me a number of questions, starting with where I was born. Put in a plug for Harry Truman, President from 1945 to 1953. He is a distant relative by marriage. Watching the five o’clock KPRC Channel 2 news. The highest gas price in Friendswood was $2.999/gallon. Taxable brokerage account was up 0.39% today. Everything was up today. Fourteen more days before Social Security Retirement comes in. Latest possible payment date this month. Should be about wrapped up with my IV infusions by then. Going to call AJ so he can bring me some clothes. T-shirts and shorts or sweatpants.

Most of the day yesterday wife had stomach issues. By nighttime she was feeling even worse due to the medication she needed was nit refilled until last night. She didn't realize it needed doctor's approval and pharmacy couldn't contact him until Monday and get the medication until Tuesday. We ate a lot over the weekend and Monday. So, we ended up going to urgent care. After determining she had no heart issues, they admitted her to the hospital where we have been all day. She is still there but the cardiologist signed off she can leave by the admitting physical wanted another test. Hopefully she is home tomorrow. I stayed with her last night but came home so I can sleep with the C-PAC.

Souxted: I have been through the same thing at the pharmacy and not realizing that the drug had to have doc's approval. It really is a pain. Sorry that your wife was not feeling well. Hope she is out of the hospital sooner than later. It makes for a bad week.
Sneakers: Were able to take a shower today? It must be very difficult not to wash off as opposed to have the antibacterial wipes. Not the same kind of clean feeling. At least you can eat the food. Most of what you say you can eat, I would not be able to. Hopefully by the end of this month, you can go home.
Uncle: That is unfortunate that 2 of your curling teammates will not be playing this year. The school year will be starting for you in a couple of weeks. I think you are in the process of signing up for this year. I can understand you wanting to drive the same bus or one that is similar to what you are used to driving. Down the road though, it may be that you have to drive an updated one. I want a flat screen tv and they are all Smart TV's meaning that I would have to pay big bucks to have someone come in to program it. I don't need all the bell and whistles in a TV as I don't watch a lot of it. I just bought a laptop as my hard drive is going. When I went to the store to look at TV's the employee gave me a SKU to look at on my way out. I put the SKU in my phone and it is a Smart TV. Waste of time. My computer guy, who I have known for years, states that there are nonsmart tv's around. It just takes the right person to talk to when going to buy one.
lorando: The weather is getting cooler at night. It is in the 50-60's here too. Fall will be here before you know it. There are wild turkeys here. There was only one baby added to the group this year. The Canadian geese are the ones that hold up traffic here. They seem to wander in the street and stand there looking around before a few horns start blaring. Then they start moving to the other side of the road.
Take care Everyone!!!!

lorando (NW PA), there are native reserves in Canada. Not sure how many live in the reserves, but Indigenous people represents 5% of Canada’s total population. soutxed, sorry to hear your wife got sick. Fingers crossed she's home on Thursday. Again, the Astros win another one, and the Mariners lose another one. patty7841, some drivers prefer a certain make of bus. That is one reason I'm happy to keep my current unit. It's a 2015 model. When I last drove it in June, it had about 222,000 km or 133,000 miles on it. It will have been used during the summer for charters, so it will have plenty more when I get it back. There has to be a cheap TV for a person to buy. Maybe an old model or something like that. I hope you can find one. Take care everyone.

No shower yesterday. The staff may be waiting for AJ to bring me clothes, which he is planning to do this morning. Dietary has a list of what I won’t eat or drink. Last night, I ate a boneless breaded pork chop, a dinner roll, steak fries, coleslaw, berries, and apple juice. Cleaned it up. Today is the tenth day of thirty that I am expecting to be here, Slept until almost six o’clock this morning. My butt is kind of sore from being in bed, Sat in a wheelchair after occupational therapy yesterday afternoon until I was ready for bed.

The online prescription ordering service from both of my pharmacies tells me when they will need to get doctor approval. Smart TVs are easy to program. I question if there actually any dumb TVs left. Not after the digital TV transition with PSIP.

Good Morning, Sneakers. That would be good if A.J. would bring you some clothes from home. It would be another step in the right direction to get back in civvies again.
soutxed - Sorry your wife was not feeling well. Hope things get back to normal quickly.
Hi, Patty. I never thought about how hard it would be to find a non-streaming tv. Keep looking; they must be out there. Maybe a garage sale or newspaper classified section; maybe a community bulletin board at a local store? Good Luck!
Mornin', Uncle. 133,000 miles on a bus doesn't seem like much. I suppose the stop and go miles are hard on it, but that's what it's built for. Plus it gets good regular maintenance. Hope you have a lot more years together.

Good Morning, Sneakers. That would be good if A.J. would bring you some clothes from home. It would be another step in the right direction to get back in civvies again. Right now, I’m in a pull-up with a sheet pulled over me. When they want me out of the room, they put me in two hospital gowns. One to cover my front and the other to cover my back. I’ve got a document from my lawyer that they E-mailed me that they want me to print, sign, scan in, and E-mail back. Can’t figure out how to do that. I would have to talk AJ through it or maybe Isaiah or John.

lorando (NW PA), they make school buses to last. We have buses with more than 180,000 miles on them. They have the buses in the shop every 3 months for one of two kinds of inspections. I've been driving that unit since 2020. It would have first been on the road in 2014. soutxed, I hope your wife is felling better today. Nothing like being well enough to go home. Take care everyone.

Soutxed: I hope that your wife is feeling better and is home tonight.
Sneakers: Hope you feel better too Sneakers.
Lorando, Soutxed, Sneakers --- If I buy a Smart TV, will it run like a dumb one if I do not have it hooked up to WiFi or use my router? I will not be able to find a dumb one at this point. I have a picture tube TV right now that I need to get rid of. Age is one thing but the picture does not stay in the right position at times and sometimes the sound is behind, etc. Desperate for some feedback. I am not tech oriented so I would have to get the Geek Squad out for $200 to set the tv up. Ugh!!! Then I would be stuck with it if something went wrong. Smart TVs' are not great for society today as the TV can get hacked. I am not up to any more issues in life. I have enough going on.
Have a good Friday Everyone.

Have a good Friday Everyone. My right knee is sore but that is just aging related aches and pains. You can use a Smart TV in “dumb TV” mode. That was they did at Ignite, they had ROKU TVs hooked to cable TV without being set up for Wi-Fi at all. On the other hand, I have a 55” TCL ROKU TV that is hooked to Wi-Fi and pulls in cable TV over WiFi without a cable box, saving $10 a month. Although we have three ROKU TVs in the house. I know Isaiah has his connected to Wi-Fi but I think AJ uses his with a pair of rabbit ears. A ROKU TV (there are several brands that use the ROKU system) recognizes its initial startup (or one after you push the recessed reset button on the back) and launches a series of easy configuration option screens. IIIRC, the first one is what language you want to use for the rest of the displays.

Patty--Yes you can run a "smart TV" like a dumb TV. But they are not hard to set. I think ours had instructions the 1st time I turned it on.
Everyone thanks for your concern. Wife came home yesterday morning. Brought home stuff from the hospital (shampoos, soap, tissues, and socks). Everything went well and a lady came in asking how everything went. After she left service kind of went downhill. When she was ready to leave they could not find a wheelchair, but she was able to walk out. Nurse was apologetic. Also, shower didn't work but a plumber came in and fixed it, but wife did a dry shower before he finished. Overall medical care was good. It was determined she probable over ate the past weekend and then the anxiety of sister with cancer and other issues. She was advised to follow up with family doctor and heart doctor. The heart doctor came to visit and thinks they may give her a stress test.
We were invited to another birthday party but knowing there would be a lot of food, we sent our apologies.
Fiananial advisor came to house as there was a form for wife to sign. She had another client in the area who needed to sign a form. Brought her dog which sent Ditch hiding somewhere.
Did go eat at Jason's Deli and wife had one trip to salad bar. Ate leftover for supper.
Gas prices went up at Valero, but most others went down. But I expect them to go up as Valero is the price leader here. Guess they need to fatten their profits.
Again, thanks for your concern.
