Good Friday Morning, Patty. I have to defer to Sneakers, Uncle, and soutxed when it comes to technology. Sorry. I'd be in the same boat you're in if the tv ever conked out! Looks like some good sleeping weather next week, with overnight temps in the 40s (high 40s at least). No need to rush things!
Hello, Uncle. No idea who the Yankees are playing tonight. I'll find out when I turn it on. I'm think they're visiting Cleveland sometime on this road trip, so maybe that's it. Buses probably get better maintenance than most people's cars. Hope you find a compatible person for your curling team. It would be a lot more fun if you had the right chemistry on the team.
Hi, soutxed. Glad your wife is home and feeling better. That's got to be a relief. Stress can do all kinds of bad things! It's good that you both get out a lot with friends.
Morning, Sneakers. Age related aches and pains? Tell me about it! Did you figure out a way to get your lawyer's documents signed? Couldn't they just mail them to you for your signature if you explained your current status? So you and Harry Truman are "Show Me" state products, eh, and distantly related by marriage! I'd say you're in good company. If I remember my PA history, James Buchanan was the only president from the Keystone State. He's considered by many (probably most) as the worst U.S. President.

I'd say you're in good company. If I remember my PA history, James Buchanan was the only president from the Keystone State. He's considered by many (probably most) as the worst U.S. President. Called my paralegal at the lawyer’s office about 2:00. PM and explained I am in a nursing home. They are going to send me a hardcopy of the paperwork via FedEx. When it gets to the house, I will get AJ to bring it to me so I can sign it. Then, after I sign, he can take it to FedEx Office as the paralegal is going to send me a return postage label. We have a good bit of time to get it back because they expect it back by the 28th. The relationship to President Truman is in my father’s side. I would need to look it up to say exactly what it is but it is in the Chiles branch of the family, which is great grandmother Perrin’s maiden name. I don’t have the relationship calculator on the iPad but Jim Crow Chiles was Harry Truman’s uncle. During the Civil War, Jim Crow Chiles went to Texas. AJ got the back fence back up. Parts of it were blown down during Hurricane Beryl. Had two bottles of pop today. A Diet Coke in the morning after therapy and a Diet Dr Pepper the middle of the afternoon.. Got back in bed soon after that. Got my wound care this afternoon. I asked the wound care nurse if she was going to watch the Astros tonight. She said she wasn’t, she was going to see her son play under the Friday Night Lights. just. ate supper. Baked Ziti with meat sauce, salad with white dressing, breadstick, Key Lime pie with Graham cracker crust, and iced tea. Consumed it all.

I want a flat screen tv and they are all Smart TV's meaning that I would have to pay big bucks to have someone come in to program it. I don't need all the bell and whistles in a TV as I don't watch a lot of it.
You can use a smart TV without using the smart functions.

Thanks Everyone about your advice about a Smart TV.
Soutxed: Glad your wife is feeling better and is out of the hospital.
Ed, What is the easiest way to turn a TV on without using the Smart functions. If I insert the cable into the back of the TV, will I be good to go or is there some programming or set-up to do after that!!! Sneakers mentioned ROKU but I am not sure what that is.
Have a good weekend, Everyone.

just. ate supper. Baked Ziti with meat sauce, salad with white dressing, breadstick, Key Lime pie with Graham cracker crust, and iced tea. Consumed it all. Mary makes a good "baked" Ziti in the InstaPot. I'm going to suggest it for the next meal we make which will be Tuesday.

I just turn ours on with the remote. There is a channel guide I can pick to scroll through and see what is on or press the channel up/down on the remote. Can't say how they work with cable because we cut the cord long ago.

Good Saturday Morning, All.
Sneakers, I'm glad you could get the papers you need to sign Fed-Exed overnight. It's a humid and rainy weekend, but by Tuesday a nice high pressure area will bring sunny, cool days for the rest of the week. They're calling for highs in the 60s and lows in the 40s on Tuesday.
Patty, I see that the state of Massachusetts is taking over the remaining Steward Hospitals by eminent domain. Sounds like Steward ran them into the ground! No wonder you have trouble getting proper health care. Probably no easy fix, but hopefully a step in the right direction.
Uncle, Hope your weekend is a keeper. Starting soon, your weekends will become more important than ever for you. It was Detroit that the Yankees played last night. Well, at least I guessed a Great Lakes City. A nice quick paced game.
soutxed - Hope your wife is recovering well at home. I drove over to Andover, OH yesterday to put some miles on the car, and buy some cheap Ohio gasoline. Bought a six-pack of Edmund Fitzgerald Porter and some deli Italian Bread at the local market there, and had spaghetti & garlic bread last night. It really hit the spot.

Lorando--Even though I am a retired social studies teacher, I still don't know what state all the Presidents are from. I know Eisenhower and LBJ were from Texas and Ohio has a bunch. Yankees, a 1st place team lost to the worst team, the White Sox. But the Astros also lost last night breaking their win streak.
Patty--I know the feeling of being hacked, it has happened too many times to me. Worst was when evil BIL (I am sure it was him) hacked by bank account leaving me with no money for the weekend. We have a system in place where they can block certain suspicious withdrawals now. But when I tried to use the church's online, it was being blocked. Went back to writing checks which also give me a record for income tax purposes.
Sneakers--Glad they lawyer worked out a way to get the document signed. Financial advisor needed wife to sign a form as we have to make changes to the IRA. Complicated but she came to the house, 30 miles away. But also had another client in Harlingen who needed a form signed. But we will not be getting one deposit until September. Also, cannot make special withdrawals without losing the interest until September. Just when SIL needs money to get her cancer treatment. Other family members have been able to step up and don't understand why we cannot help right now. Would be nice if I had some game money to use.
Uncle--Weekends will be more valuable soon. Seeing school buses around town reminds me school has started here.
We haven't been going out with friends right now as wife is watching what she eats until she visits family doctor. That won't be until next week. We have the Barry Manilow Tuesday night in Corpus Christi. So next Thursday or Friday. Glad we got the tickets ahead of time. But may not have funds to buy any shirts or stuff.
That is about it for today.

A smart TV has an on/off button just like a dumb TV. The TV will lead you through the setup process automatically. Probably the most involved step is scanning for channels but that is automatically done. It just takes a few minutes. ROKU is a brand of Smart TV software that multiple brands use. Probably about seven or eight. It’s very popular. I have three Roku TVs at the house.

The lawyer’s office pretty much knew what to do as Plan B. I thought of talking one of the boys through printing and scanning the documents on the phone but FedEx is easier. We are going to have HOT for as long as the weather guessers go out

We have found a 4th person for my Wednesday curling team. Nice to have that taken care of, even if the season doesn't start until October. I saw they put the map for my school bus route on the Website already. Looks like a have 5 new stops. Can't wait to see the student list. I guess I'll have new ones, but what grades and any siblings riding together? Sometimes siblings get along and sometimes they don't. soutxed, happy to hear your wife is home. Over eating can be a problem, combined with stress, things can happen. That's smart to turn down the invite to birthday party. Fingers crossed next year at this time you can both go. Yes, I'm counting the days left of my "freedom". Summer might be like retirement for a school bus driver, but it isn't. lorando (NW PA), I was told on Friday the contract we have with the school boards says, they don't want us to use buses that are more then 12 years old. So I only have a few years before my bus is too old. Here's hoping the next few years, they give us some that are the kind I like. The Yankees and the Tigers will be play at the Little League World series facility Sunday. It will be the Sunday night game. I agree, weekends will be come more valuable next month. Bowling starts in just over a week too. Take care everyone.

Put on a hospital gown about four o’clock in the morning and wheeled myself to the vending machines for a cinnamon roll and a half-liter bottle of Diet Dr Pepper.
Was surprised to discover that I wasn’t the only patient awake at that hour. I’d slept a while early at night..
Sunday morning news began at the top of the hour.
Plan to watch Cousin Martha’s Church service at 10:15 AM. Was able to stream it last week over cellular broadband.
AJ didn’t know that Cousin Martha, his favorite of my family, has Stage 4 cancer that is in remission. She takes medication to keep it under control. But I never mentioned that until last night. My right eye is itchy and watery. I think I contaminated it with my beltline rash that oozes.
The staff emptied my urinal a couple of hours ago. Haven’t needed it since.

Lorando--Sorry I got the scores mixed up. White Sox defeated the Astros and Yankees won. I see they play in Williamsport PA tonight. A team from San Antonio is in the World Series.
Sneakers--Good explanation of ROKU. When the telephone company in San Perlita dropped cable, they gave everyone a ROKU kit. SIL and her husband didn't know what it was and threw it away. We expect triple digits this week. Heat warning out. One HS in the area had their A/C go out and need a part from somewhere far away.
Uncle--I would not want a bus that is too old. I see a bus broke down around here too often. How many miles does your bus have? Astros back on a win streak.
Didn't do much yesterday except go to Sam's. Was crowded but we managed. Wanted to wash the car but it was too hot.
Wife found out why they took her off a medication as it was deemed dangerous a year ago. Odd the pharmacy was still selling them. She will try to get into the family doc this week.
Going to have a late BD lunch with crazy lady. See what excuse she comes up with not to tip.

On my setup on our non-ROKU TV, the ROKU is the cable box. The weather guessers are expecting triple digit temperatures through Tuesday then cooling off to the middle nineties. Just had breakfast.. Like usual, they gave me eggs. Despite my Dietary slip saying “no eggs.” They do honor the “no coffee” request. Right eye is itchy, watering, and red. The staff is contacting my doctor in the nursing home. Some medicine may only be dangerous for certain patient groups. You should take crazy lady to a buffet. Usually, tips are not expected there. I used to leave a $1 tip at a no tipping required buffet. I can say they gave me extremely good service.
