Sneakers--I know some contemporary Chirstian songs but few that are played on the Message. Our music director at church listened to the station to get songs for our services but felt not many fit our style of contemporary music. Hope you get a better wheelchair, but you are leaving soon.
I seem to have no great problem with the wheelchair. Last night, I felt nauseous. Took me a while to fall asleep. Was a bit concerned when Dietary brought me breakfast but I have consumed breakfast and lunch without any issues. This afternoon, I went to therapy and got a shower. Also got my rashes tended to with antifungal powder and cream. I asked the staffer who gave me the shower to wheel me to the pop machine. Got a Gatorade Fruit Punch as they were out of Diet Coke, Diet Dr Pepper, and Coke Zero. Temperature here today is less than 90 and heat index is less than 100. Rain in the area but it is sunny here right now.

Thanks to you, Sneakers and Uncle for the info on CircleK. My grocery chain, Giant Eagle, is selling all its gas operations to Circle K. It's based in Pittsburgh, and has gas stations in PA, OH, WV, MD, & IN, 274 in all, plus 211 grocery stores. Don't know if the name (GetGo) will change or not, but Circle K said it will continue the Grocery Perks program, which is good.
Hello, Sneakers. Thanks for the Altar Call info. I thought maybe it was for new "searchers", but I see it's more comprehensive. Well, I may have spoken too soon about no 90s this summer. Today's forecast is for 91°F, but I wouldn't count on it. Meteorologists seem to enjoy a little exaggeration when they get a chance. Glad to hear your eye is responding. Plus you made it to (almost) to tomorrow's Social Security payment. Lots of happy people on Wednesdays. Mine is on the second Wed. of the month. Circle-K must be expanding south and eastward. I don't know if they will change the name of the stations or just run them as Get-Gos. I remember 42 years ago when all the Esso stations in the US changed their name to Exxon. An Esso sign would probably be sought after by collectors.
Circle K changed the name of the Corner Store chain located in Metro Houston to Circle K. There are marketing advantages to having a single brand name. But Kroger has kept the name of all the store chains they have acquired but all of them seem to have adopted the “Kroger Family of Stores” sub-branding. We peaked at 88 today with a heat index of 97. A veritable cold front! Everything seems to be responding. Wound care doctor looked at the left foot today and said it looks good. Eye is almost normal, and the beltline area is responding to the antifungal powder the staffers here are putting on it. My Social Security Retirement payment usually shows up in the main checking account about 9:00 PM Tuesday. I will parcel it out to the credit cards. AJ needs to put gas in the Tundra. Asked one time on a Wednesday if HEB saw any big shopping rush on Wednesdays. The cashier said the first and the fifteenth. if you want an Esso sign, all you have to do is go to another country where ExxonMobil still uses the Esso brand (like Canada). Exxon only uses the Exxon brand in the USA, because other companies had similar names but they don’t anymore. Kyso (now Chevron) was the company that objected the most.

There are Walmart stores in Canada. IIRC, they bought out what was Woolco when Woolworth went belly up. Woolworth didn't go belly up. They became Footlocker. OK, they became Footlocker. The only profitable part of the company. They gave up their old ticker symbol “Z” in the transition.

Fell asleep before ten o’clock, woke up just after midnight.
Things are going good. A wound care doctor looked at my left foot Tuesday morning and said it looked good. My right eye is almost back to normal. My beltline rash is much better since the staff applied antifungal powder.
Had a therapy session in the gym Tuesday afternoon.
Got a shower Tuesday afternoon. I could tell that I needed it.
Took myself down to the vending machines after midnight. Got some chocolate sugar wafers and a bottle of Gatorade Fruit Punch.
Took part of my Social Security Retirement payment and distributed part of it to other accounts.
Feel considerably better than I did last night. Last night, I was nauseous. The nurse gave me some medication and I felt asleep until 7:30 AM.
Fell asleep about 2:00 AM, woke up at 4:28 AM. Now watching “Early Today” on KPRC Channel 2: my one station. NBC is one of the better networks to be stuck on.

Sneakers--We didn't make it to Social Security deposit. A loan payment came through and was bounced. Hope by next month we get the financial situation worked out. Looks good for you leaving next week. Hope nothing changes. When does the vending machine get restocked. Seem like soon as it may be costing the vender money. The cooler weather reaches us today with a 50% chance of rain. Parts of Harlingen got rain yesterday, but none at our house.
Lorando--As far as I know, Circle K here built new stores. Stripes was taken over by 7-11 but kept the Stripes name and sells Valero gas. Astros lose again to Phillies.
Uncle--One more free weekend. Bowling next week?
SIL started Chemo yesterday. In-laws lack of communication skills set in. We were last told it was Thursday but then get a call she is in Chemo and can we take her home. But we had movie tickets. Got it worked out. Chemo went well, she had no pain as with previous Chemo sessions 9 years ago. She has two more the next two weeks on Tuesdays. Now we know and can make plans. It isn't a language thing; it is always thinking someone else has told us.
Movie was "It Ends with Us" a love story about a woman who grew up with an abusive father and then married an abusive man. Interesting but not one I would want to see again. I was confused most of the time.
Wife has appointment with the cardiologist as a follow up from hospital stay. Then shopping as we have money.

Good Morning, Sneakers. I had a rare light bulb moment 💡 yesterday. I knew Social Security payment days are on Wednesdays, and that stores have senior discount days on Wednesdays, but never put the two together. If I was a light bulb, I wouldn't be the brightest one around! You seem to have had a satisfying day yesterday. Sounds like you'll be ready to go home in a week or two. Hope you don't get pulled over by the wheel chair cops for having bad brakes before you leave. The grocery business is really cut throat, with such small margins of profit. The Giant Eagle stores I mentioned yesterday fired its CEO in April, after Walmart outsold them on their home turf of Pittsburgh. That's what brought on the sell-off of its gasoline ops to Circle K, so they can concentrate on groceries. The last time I heard, Kroger and Albertsons wanted to merge to compete against Walmart, and Aldi is buying out a lot of Winn Dixie stores.
Hello, soutxed. Spent the evening flipping channels to see the Yankees lose, the Astros lose, and I don't know how the Guardians did. They were behind, but still in rain delay when I turned off the tv. So not the best of nights. That Cleveland rain got here about an hour later, and knocked down a few trees around the county, but nothing serious. Our streak of NO 90s this summer continues. It only reached 87° yesterday, which is plenty warm.
Hi, Uncle. Hope your route's dry run was uneventful yesterday. It probably felt good to be back in the driver's seat again. I think most schools in this area started this week, but some are holding off until after the Labor Day weekend.

I have only two auto-debited payments. I enter them in my check register spreadsheet right after the account credit that will pay them. Will leave here soon after my thirty day course of IV antibiotics is over. It started August 6th. That comes out about September 5th. Eight days from today. Vending machine needs restocking, hopefully today. It is running out of stuff that I want to drink. My second daily IV ball appears to have infused. Slept most of the day. Will probably stay up most of the night. Now watching Entertainment Tonight on KPRC Channel 2.

Don’t know of much in Metro Houston that has senior discount day on Wednesday. Although, IIRC, the hair place that I usually go to has senior discounts every day. I’m thinking my thirty day course of IV antibiotics will be over the 5th of September. Eight days from today. Then I can graduate to Medicare Home Health. My second IV ball of the day has infused. Nurse assistant came in and said that a nurse would have to come disconnect the line from the PICC. Nurse came in and disconnected me after supper. Staff is aware of the brakes on my wheelchair and so am I. AJ prefers to go shopping at a high priced grocery store because enough people go shopping there to keep them in business but not enough to make a crowd . He says HEB is too crowded. But he will go to Walmart which is worse. The Kroger and Albertsons merger is right now in the courts. Federal Trade Commission sought to block it and Kroger is now appealing. I don’t like ALDI, they don’t really cater to the mobility impaired but HEB does. Food Town, where AJ goes, have scooters that randomly stop and only restart when you release and reapply the throttle. I went some to Winn-Dixie when I lived in Alabama but I did most of my shopping at Kroger. Lived twelve miles from the nearest Kroger. When I went to wrap up things in Alabama in 1994, they had built a new Kroger store just a couple of miles from home. I wrote a letter to Kroger saying I would like a store that was closer to where I lived. They thanked me for my twelve mile drive. Had supper. Cheeseburger, potato wedges, cookie, and iced tea. Only problem is that I would have liked more ketchup than the one packet they provided.

First night of bowling could have been better. It wasn't until after I'd arrived at the bowling alley, I realized I had forgotten my knee brace. That won't happen next week. My knee started to feel sore by the end of the first game. A little sore today, but not too bad. Next week should be better. Met our new teammate. She was on a team last year, but for various reasons, they aren't back this season. So she is with us. soutxed, my dry run went well. Found out the timing isn't very good. I was about 5 minutes late by the time I got to the last stop. We will have to put up with that for a few weeks. Too soon to make changes. It was nice to see the other drivers again. Some got new buses and some of those aren't registered yet. So those drivers had to use another bus. All should be good for day one on Tuesday. That driver should have turned off the flashing lights if no one was getting off the bus. Perhaps it was a discipline issue and he or she was distracted. lorando (NW PA), it was nice to drive the route with my regular bus. Instead of driving the route in my car. Realized there was a tree blocking the view of on-coming traffic. So I will be going from one stop to another a slightly different way. Processed sewage sludge? That sounds like a very different kind of job compared to teaching. Happy Hump Day! Take care everyone.

Sneakers--The vending machine will probably get restocked the day before you leave. The large HEB here is usually crowded unless we go early or late. I don't like it because they have some of the rudest customers. Partners are polite and helpful but cannot figure out what to do when two customers get into an argument. For a short time, they had armed security but haven't seen any lately. Went yesterday because they stock some things the other two stores don't. Hope all goes well so you can go home next week.
Uncle--I forgot to tell you about something that happened at the scrimmage last week. The 9th grade/JV scrimmage ended, and the players and coaches went to the buses, but the drivers were not there. They looked around for them and couldn't find them. A coach called the press box and asked that the PA announcer tell the bus drivers to report to the buses. Call back ten minutes later and still no drivers. One press box worker said he had the phone number of a driver, called him and he knew nothing but called a driver he thought was there. Finally, the drivers showed up. Seems the AD told them to wait in a building next to the stadium where there was A/C and they lost track of the time. Ended our press box theory they were in a Mexican Restaurant across the street.
Wife received a package of frozen food that Medicare Advantage paid for. A new benefit for those who spent time in the hospital. Tried a couple of meals last night and they were decent. Got 12 more to go.
Doctor's appointment went well. Said to come back in 6 months for another heart checkup.
Went to HEB and had planned to go to Sam's, but it was raining when we came out of HEB it was raining lightly but as we got near Sam's, it was raining hard so we went home.
Later in the afternoon we went to Sam's and it wasn't crowded. Ran into a friend whose wife has been dealing with vertigo. She still is having issues.
Everyone, behave.

At the rate they’re going, it’s probably the case. Both the Friendswood and the Webster HEBs are busy but the Webster location is bigger. I shop riding a scooter and if I am having trouble reaching something frequently another shopper will grab items for me. Fortunately, I have never seen a really rude shopper. Did have one in front of the cheese or the lunch meat that was reading all the packages but I knew what I wanted. Let out a sigh and I was told that I could sit there and wait. I only had to wait a couple of minutes after that. I have never seen customers arguing but the Webster HEB has a security guard patrolling the parking lot. We are having rain and thunderstorms both at home and the nursing home. Just got a phone call from AJ and he was out in the garage with rain coming down outside. My thirty day course of IV antibiotics is over in a week. Wound care nurse just changed my bandages and said my left foot looked very good.

Sneakers: I hope all goes well for you to leave rehab in another week. I hope your foot continues to look, "Very Good". Keep up the good work!!!
Uncle: It happens that we forget things (like a knee brace) when we head out the door. You will have a better week next week. That is strange how that woman was on a bowling team last year, and the only who showed up was the woman who joined your team. That was good that you did a dry run with the bus rather than have to use your own car, like you did last year. I think it is good as you got familiar with the route to a point. If you have to make adjustments, like the tree blocking your view, then you will know where to go when you get to that point.
Souxed: Good that your wife made out well with the cardiologist. I was supposed to have an ultrasound today and when I got to the appointment, I had this test where 2 blood pressure cuffs were put on each leg. This was to test the pressure in each leg. I thought the time was for the ultrasound to determine any blockage in any of the lower extremity arteries. Oh well, not my call. I don't care for the cardiologist so I will be making a switch sooner than later.
lorando: Temps are in the 70's but it is still humid. The nights are cool with temps in the lower 60's. Sunday is going to be showers with very high humidity. It will be a very uncomfortable day with the air so saturated. Fall is almost here. But not sure why you did not have a hot Summer. We did here. Maybe it is due to the lake effects where you live.
Everyone "Behave"!!!

It’s the thirty day course of IV antibiotics that has me in rehab. I can ambulate quite well now. I could have gone home if I was willing to go to an infusion center for thirty days but that sounded like a hassle. We’re tight enough on money that AJ went to the Exxon near home and bought $5 of gas yesterday to make sure he could get to HEB, where he bought another $30 at a lower price. I was aware of my financial situation when I elected the nursing home. I will probably have Medicare Home Health come out and rebandage my foot until October, when I have my next scheduled visit with Dr. Clause. Nursing home is no cost between Medicare and my Medicare Supplement, and I don’t pay for electricity, food, or water here. I had my third shower in the nursing home this evening after supper. I found something in the nursing home food that I thought was good enough to make at home. A shredded BBQ beef and Tater Tot casserole. It was the entree for lunch today. Now got the one channel TV on “Law and Order.” I could listen to anything on SiriusXM via the iPad and still surf the Internet at the same time.

Sneakers--I bet when you are blocking an aisle looking for something and someone wants to pass, you make room. This lady refused to move for me. Worse was a lady asked her to move so young daughter (7-8) could get something and wheelchair lady went into a rage insulting the daughter, saying mom should have had an abortion, and more. I walked away thinking that wasn't going to end well. If it had been my child I would have (1) used my gun or (2) screamed for management. Mom just stood there and took it. Wheelchair lady was the one who yelled at me for nearly falling on her in the check stand. Cashier just kept checking, when lady said I didn't have vertigo, I walked out. My wife stayed and got our groceries. Told me when had several customers like that when she worked at that store which was one reason she asked for a transfer. Glad you got rain. We only got a trace here, but some parts of the valley had 2 inches.
Patty--Hope you find another cardiologist soon. Seven doctors at this clinic. I am getting where I forget things more often now. I tell people my brain is like a computer. It is full and I have to delete something to remember something else. Temperatures here didn't reach triple digits yesterday and suppose to remain in the 90s today with a 50% chance of rain. Hopefully it passes before football tonight.
The other Harlingen HS played against a school who lost two football players this summer. A moment of silence for both. Football season started last night for me at a JV/9th grade game. I was supposed to train someone on the clock but he never showed up. Worked 2 games, both of which we lost. JV was so lopsided that the clock never stopped in the 2nd half. There was a light game when I showed up but stopped by game time and the sun was out at the start of the 2nd game before it set.
For some reason while I am typing this, there are two police cars in front of the house. One walked over to look in the ditch and the other is talking to the Marine who is washing his wife's car. Now they are gone.
Working first varsity game tonight.

Slept pretty good last night. Up about 4:30 AM.
Last night, I used Google to look up how to set up a GE universal remote. Was able to make the remote control control the TV in my room.
Watched part of the Astros-Royals game last night. Astros won 6-3.
Currently watching or more than listening to the ABC 13 morning news.
Been in a hospital gown ever since the shower. Room is cool this morning. Covered up in blanket. Arms are out from under the blanket and they are cold. Decided to put the blanket over my arms, iPad, and head.are under the blanket.
Dozed off for a while.
Waiting for breakfast. I am hungry. Usually don’t eat breakfast at home.
Dozed off for a while.
Woke up to breakfast. Sausage, oatmeal, a pancake with syrup, and orange juice. And eggs that I won’t eat. Even though my Dietary slip has on it “Dislikes Eggs.” it also has on it “Dislikes Coffee” but they don’t bring me coffee.
