Good Morning, Sneakers. Good for Isaiah! I wish him well in his new job. Your rehab place probably wants to get the maximum payment from Medicare, so they would love to have you as a guest for a few extra days after the infusions ended. I ordered a new bluetooth speaker and it will arrive today. It's a Bose SoundLink Revolve. It replaces an older, smaller one that I dropped once too many times, plus it had problems holding a charge. But I'll keep it and use it on AC.
Hello, Patty. No bee problems at the moment that I know of in the Apartments, but some friends were telling me about a problem they were having at their home with ground hornets on Sunday. I'm kind of expecting a few critters looking for winter refuge inside because the temps are getting chilly overnight (into the 40s this weekend). So far, just two ants. I have a crab apple tree outside my living room window, and when they begin to fall the deer make evening visits. I wouldn't even know it, but my neighbor has a Schnauzer named Lucy, who barks when she sees them from inside. They ignore her! I did see a fairly large group of them a few times last fall. Most of the apples stay on the tree for the birds to eat during the winter.
Hi, soutxed. Just saw on the Weather Channel that you and Sneakers are in for some big time rain. Sounds like you will be happy in your area - Sneakers not so much in his. Watched the Yankee-Ranger game for awhile last night. Being in the Central Time Zone meant I ran out of steam before it was over, and went to bed, but NY was ahead. I'll have to check the final score. It's an important series because the Orioles are playing the White Sox at home. It's a sweatshirt & long pants type of morning, sunny, with the predicted high of 72°. Good News! Got an email from out priest yesterday. Said he might be coming home tomorrow and might even be back in church on Sunday.

lorando: That is good news about the priest at your church. Glad he is doing well. No bees is a good thing. They can be downright nasty this time of the year.
Take care!!!

He had four hours of orientation Tuesday. His first regular workday will be Thursday. i have no desire to be here a hundred days. A Bluetooth speaker is one piece of equipment I have never owned.

I felt asleep soon after the nurse gave me my Klonopin. Now up at 2:30 AM. Had to have my urinal emptied. Nurse tonight usually has today off but the usual nurse called in sick.
I plan to pay bills shortly.

Taxable brokerage account was up 1.62% yesterday. Think it’s the best day I had I have had with my current portfolio.

Overslept yesterday and had to rush to a doctor's appointment. From there we went to visit one of wife's sister who ended up in the hospital as a result of the chemotherapy last week. Not sure if she will take the treatment this week. Stayed too long and left from there to go to see Reagan, the movie. Pretty good. Had to make a couple of stops after the movie.
Sneakers--Maybe by the time you read this you are home. Sounds like the Think Pad misses you.
Patty--Yes, we got some rain yesterday and it has been raining most of the night and into the morning. Sounds like the type of customers you have that there should be armed security. Of course I say that about the HEB where some of the customers are very rude.
Uncle--How was the first day of school?
Lorando--One would think McCarthy needs to do well. While at the doctor's office, there was some program where sportscasters were picking the NFL playoff teams, and the majority had the Eagles out the East and Dallas not even a wild card. Rangers lost.
One other thing, Monday night i caught a bad cold which was one reason for oversleeping as cold medication does that to me, even the non-drowsy medications.
Have a HEB planning meeting today. Good part is they pay for lunch. Hopefully will be able to post again tomorrow.

No progress yet on getting home. But I have not yet objected to being here. I was here for IV therapy that they finished Friday. Carbonite Safe is what’s missing me not turning the ThinkPad on. When I get home, I’ll download a month of E-statements in a few hours. I paid all my bills in the wee small hours of the morning today .

Hi, Sneakers. Wow. How did you manage a 1.62% gain yesterday? I thought the market was a down big time, or maybe I wasn't paying attention when I heard it. Could be you have a defensive portfolio or the big losses were only in one sector. I usually just check at the end of the month. Anyway, that's good news for you. The first few days of work are tough when you're young. I wouldn't be surprised if Isaiah's head is spinning today. I remember on my very first ever job, I bagged groceries for 4 hours. I had a sore throat and was hearing cash register bells for hours after. The new bluetooth speaker came right on time, and connected easily. It has a lot more bass and volume, but living in an apartment, I keep the volume down.
Uncle, I hope everything went well for you and all your fellow drivers yesterday. Only 179 more days to go, give or take a few!
Hi, soutxed. Chemo must really knock the stuffings out of a person. I'm sure your SIL needs some TLC from the family. It's "gotta" be tough. Spent what seemed like forever typing up Sunday's order of service: one if we have a priest, one if we don't. The desktop must have been doing something in the background, because it was slow as molasses in January. Now it seems to be working ok again. (Tired of watching that beachball spin and waiting for it to disappear after every entry). Yankee closer blew another save in the ninth last night. I think that's his 11th or 12th blown save this year. Feel better, and hope your H-E-B planning meeting goes well.

Asked when I get to go home. The staff stopped my IV antibiotics Saturday and pulled my PICC Monday.. No answer and no reason why I am still here that I can figure out.

A quick response as it is late!!
Sneakers: Hope you get discharged tomorrow (Thursday). Seems ridiculous as to why you are still there.
Pray for the 4 deceased (2 teachers and 2 students) and all who were injured in another school shooting at a Georgia High School today!

Sneakers--Not having a Think Pad I really don't know how it works. I pay most bills on my HP laptop. Some years ago, I had to pay Dillard's and AT&T the old fashion way as evil BIL was stopping my payments on those accounts. Dillard's tech was no help as they were making money with the late fees. AT&T did an investigation but was unable to trace it to BIL computer. However, I pay through the bank now and have no problems. Actually, I have no AT&T accounts any more. I remember my first job was one day working for an engineering company that was doing surveying.
Lorando--Rangers had the best type of win over the Yankees with a walk off grand slam. Glad your speaker came on time. Wife has been waiting for an electric comb for almost three weeks. Informed delivery kept showing the post office hadn't pick it up. Yesterday I told wife to cancel the order, but the email showed it was finally on the way. Informed delivery shows it coming today. But when it comes to packages from USPS, we have bad service. Quit ordering from one place when an overdue payment letter arrived before the package, and another came too late to be a Christmas gift. This is SIL third time with Chemo. She had two other sessions in Arlington and didn't have those problems. She would go back but would have to live with daughter whose household is too much confusion, and she doesn't get any rest. HEB meeting went well. Coordinator wants to step down but the couple that would take her place refused the job as they plan to spend more time with their children and travel. Right now they are on a month-long tour of Europe. Several others at the meeting commented they would not take a foreign trip right now given the would situation and the anti-American feeling
Patty--I am with you about the school shootings. I will make no further comment since this isn't a political board.
Feeling better today. When we returned home from HEB meeting, I was tired and ready for a nap. SIL called and said she can't eat the hospital food so could we bring her a hamburger. Also, I needed to go to my doctor and drop off results of my last blood work as the new doctor didn't get a copy. Finally got to sleep late in the afternoon.
First NFL game tonight and then in-town rivalry game tomorrow night.

It is apparently up to my doctor who barely talks to me. One that was assigned to me by the nursing home. Probably wants to keep me here as long as possible because if I leave his gravy train ends.

A ThinkPad is a pretty much standard laptop but it is commercial grade. I paid this months bills on the iPad which is a tablet because I want to leave the expensive tech at home. I used to have Internet and pay Tv from AT&T but I dropped all their services in January 2018 when I moved back in the house after Harvey. AT&T Internet was expensive and slow and DirecTV would drop signal every time you wanted to see a weather forecast. DirecTV customer retention tried their darndest to keep me but I read them the riot act. Got them to admit their service drops when it rains and cable doesn’t. The first thing I remember about my first job (which I had at student work-study at college) was when the graduate student I was working for wanted me to cut a hole in a chassis that already had a circuit card on it. The circuit card was vibrating as I cut the chassis. I commented that I should remove the circuit card as it was vibrating a lot. The graduate student said don’t worry. By the time I was done several chips had vibrated out of their sockets and the leads on several components had broken off. Then, the graduate student took a look and was aghast at what happened to the circuit card. I said that I told you what was going on and you said not to worry. He got to fix the circuit card.

Sneakers: I know about doctors and their gravy trains. However, if you are not having occupational or physical therapy and the infusions are done, then perhaps you can sign yourself out. Doc maybe away and maybe out of the country. Who knows. It seems like so many people have gone anywhere and everywhere this year. More vacationing then ever before. Good luck getting out of the rehab facility.
Soutxed: I meant nothing in regard to politics when mentioning "prayers for the dead and injured" in the school shooting incident. The poor souls need all the prayers they can get. So senseless. That is all.
Have a good Friday Everyone!!!

Saw my hospitalist this afternoon. He is working with the staff to get me back home. No date yet for my release. If I don’t leave tomorrow, I’ll probably be here all weekend. It’s not that bad being here but I know not to call my cousins Martha and Sonja because they are watching the Chiefs game tonight. I can call my brother Allen because he could care less about football. Need to remember that I’m not having to buy food or pay for electricity or water at home.
