Hi, Sneakers. You're in your final countdown to getting released. That's good news indeed. Sounds like no physical therapy the past few days was a good clue. My driver's license saga continues. I was in & out of the Photo ID place in 10 minutes, and the workers were very friendly. They could have issued the new license on the spot, but since I have the "Real ID" variety, it takes a few more days, and it should arrive in the mail in a week or so. Everything worked the way it should, but it's surprising how complicated the process is. But these are the time we live in. Morning, Patty. Agreed. I've had AAA for many years, and it's something you pay for and hope you never use. I think I've only had to call them twice over the years, once for a dead battery and once for a flat. Oh, and I almost forgot. Once to get pulled out of a ditch on an icy morning. Luckily not a scratch on the car! Enjoy the rest of the weekend.
Two more days in the rehab facility, got the first one started.
Pennsylvania goes around making things difficult.
I've had AAA since 1995, when I decided I wasn't going back to Alabama. AJ has called them numerous times to have inoperative vehicles towed. They will only do that four times a year.

Patty--We have had AAA for years and have used it. Will use it again soon as my truck won't start, but not the battery. After another post I wonder if it is the gasoline. But with the way I have been feeling, don't need it right now.
Sneakers--Hope all goes well Tuesday. Maybe AJ is keeping the card to keep you away from the vending machine. SIL knows nothing about insurance and how it works. When we mentioned about calling the agent, she said she doesn't have one. Told her to call the number on the card, but she hasn't done it. As I have said before, she thinks she can do this herself. With todays Packers-Texan game, you win either way.
Uncle--Flat tires can be a pain. Bowling went well but sad to lose a teammate. Was she with you long? Cowboys need a new owner, but when JJ leaves, I am sure it will be his son who takes over.
Lorando--Normally by now I would be in church, but had a second attack last night, not as bad as the first. Something in common with the two is they happen right after eating out in the evening. But with last nights, I felt it coming as we left the restaurant so sat in the car quickly and it wasn't as bad. We didn't feel a need to call the paramedics. However, i knew I would be unsteady this morning to preach, so called in someone at the last minute. Cleveland fell to the Yankees. You must be pleased.
Rested all day knowing I had to preach, but we went out to eat to celebrate our anniversary. Will be one to remember.
Did have a discussion with doctor about how the big hospital here is owned by a profit-making business. Hope he got somewhere with the radiologist. I don't know why a radiologist has to see the X-Ray other than it is more money for the hospital.
I suspect when I tell our daughter what is happening, she will want us to move to Victoria as one of the hospitals still has local ownership. Or she may say we are closer to Houston where there are better doctors and Hospitals. Right Sneakers?
See what today brings, at least the Cowboys won't lose.

With todays Packers-Texan game, you win either way. Just talked to AJ and he is going to come see me and bring the debit card. SIL knows nothing about insurance, and she thinks she can do it herself? How exactly does that work? I think the SIL is deceiving herself. Game coming up at noon on CBS. Just looked to see what channel that is in the rehab. The channels aren't where they are at home, which is where they are over the air except Channel 2 comes in as Channel 12 on the cable. Roommate has his TV set to BLAST on the volume and my attempts to get his attention have failed. I'm not wearing my Packers T-shirt but I was yesterday and it's dirty. I'm in a hospital gown right now. The bandage on my left foot fell off the last time I went to the bathroom. At least it is not bleeding from the center toe.I suspect when I tell our daughter what is happening, she will want us to move to Victoria as one of the hospitals still has local ownership. Or she may say we are closer to Houston where there are better doctors and Hospitals. Right Sneakers? There are three hospitals in the area that have ERs (there is one that has a sign that they have one but when I tried to go to the ER there the door was locked: it was interesting that they had a sign outside that they have no Dilaudid so I guess they want to deter the druggies) and two of them are not-for-profit. Houston Methodist and UTMB Clear Lake are the not-for-profit ones. HCA Houston is for-profit but they do take Medicare.

Sneakers--Could you hear the game over your roommates TV? Packers pulled off a win at the end of the game. SIL has done so much on her own as she was divorced and raise children on her own. But the family seems to believe some of the medication has affected her mind. Caretaker sister is trying to talk sense to her. Saw on our local news a helicopter crashed into an antena and killed 4 people. Wonder if any were on the ground.
Watched the streaming and church seemed to go well. Pastor returned from burying his father but was not prepared to preach and sermon. Lay person who filled in at the last moment talked for less than ten minutes.
Had another breathing episode during the GB-Texan game. Seems like the two previous it came 30 minutes after eating. Wife and I tried to see what was common about the three meals and it was cheese. But then had another episode last night as put the mask on. Went without for a couple of hours and slept well. Then put it on for the 4 hours.
As I was searching around on the laptop, found a website from the hospital where they had my portal. Signed in and found the results of the missing X-Ray. Showed nothing unusual. My understanding of medical jargon is limited but understood this one. Will wait for doctor to call. if not by afternoon (most calls come at 12 noon or 5 PM) I will call them. Printed out the results and will take it to him. Also saved a copy on a memory stick.
Lorando--Saw the Dodgers defeat the Mets.
Have a good Monday.

I was able to hear the game. TV has louder sound than the ThinkPad. I missed part of the sermon at Cousin Martha's church because it was drowned out. My roommate is listening to the TV this morning but he doesn't have the volume set to BLAST.
At least the caretaker sister is trying to talk some sense into the SIL.
I've seen the helicopter story on the Good Morning America news crawl but this morning I slept through the local news.
Last full day in the rehab, wonder if they're going to have me do physical therapy today. They haven't since last Tuesday.

Good Morning, soutxed. Hope your doctor comes through with a phone call soon. Waiting just adds anxiety. Good thinking to look for a common thread among the episodes. That could be helpful. Watched the Detroit-Minnesota game yesterday afternoon - a really good one! Didn't stay up to see the Steelers, but I see they won without me. We have a baptism in two weeks, so I'll have to find the Order of Service from our last one, which I think was on Easter, 2022. I have all the services on file for the last 5 years or so. That makes the weekly task a lot easier.
Good Morning, Sneakers. Got my Covid and Flu shots this morning at the pharmacy -- only one other person waiting, so I was in and out in no time. I think I'm now vaxed against every disease known to mankind! Then filled the gas tank and headed home. If history repeats, I'll probably feel too miserable tomorrow to post, so I'll congratulate you on getting back home a day early. Plus I think you said you have income arriving today or Wednesday. Looks like a promising week ahead for you!

Usually I do not have that much reaction to a vaccination.
Social Security Retirement arrives after business hours Tuesday (official pay date is Wednesday). I have $52.40 in my checking account right now. Tomorrow, I'm planning to go to HEB after I'm released from the rehab and buy some food. Things that I usually eat. I'll buy things like the $2 loaf of bread that I think is good while AJ buys the $1 one that I think is only good for grilled cheese sandwiches.

AJ made "chop suey." His doesn't have any uniquely Chinese ingredients. His has canned diced tomatoes, elbow macaroni, and ground beef in it. Cheap, easy, and fast to make. And pretty tasty! That's not chop suey, that's American Goulash, and yes it is "pretty tasty".

My Saturday curling team won our first game. I played okay the first part of the game, but then had some bad shots. One kept going to the left and it eventually hit the side. When that happens it gets taken out of play. A wasted shot, but we did win. soutxed, sounds like you have to put things on hold. Did they get the results of the X-Ray yet? Sure hope they figure what's up. Have you ever had breathing problems at or after being at the gym? That teammate who has left the team had only been with us this season. Her team from last year all had injuries. I think her injury came back too and forced her to stop bowling for now. patty7841, my car didn't come with a spare tire. It has some way of inflating the tire by putting stuff in the tire. I've never tried that, but it does come with an air compressor. I should practice with it now and then. lorando (NW PA), you get to watch your Yankees in the world series. Against the Dodgers too. They said this is the most common match up over the years. Hope the nap got you caught up. I've had to do that before. Yes, I've filled my quota of flat tires for a good long time. No spare tire for my car either or anyway of cranking it up either. Take care everyone.

Are you not allowed to have AAA in Alabama? When I started out with motor clubs, I was in Kansas and had a membership with the Amoco Motor Club. Amoco stations all over the place in Kansas then (they went away after I moved to Texas). They also had Amoco stations in Alabama. Went to Texas, no Amoco stations. Decided then to sign up with AAA.

Slept until about 10:15 AM this morning. Woke up for morning pills and breakfast and then went back to sleep.
Had physical therapy this afternoon. Fifteen minutes on the elliptical, standing up and sitting down from the wheelchair five times, and pushing the walker from the gym back to my room.
Tried to get something from the pop machine. Decided not to when I looked at the temperature of the bottles and it was 78 degrees. Decided to go back to my room and drink ice water.
Now sitting up in the wheelchair and more listening to than watching the KPRC Channel 2 afternoon news.
With a few minutes to go, my taxable brokerage account is down 0.69% on the day. Most of my decline today is because of Coca-Cola. Didn't feel like a hot Diet Coke.
Heard in the gym that the nursing home will have vaccinations tomorrow. If I don't get vaccinated here, I will get vaccinated at HEB.

Had a member of the staff here come by and discuss my discharge.
I asked what time I could leave tomorrow and she said "any time."
Got on the phone and called AJ. He is now planning to get here and get me around 9:30 AM.
I said I want to go shopping at HEB. AJ was not surprised. I have $44.00 in my main checking account to shop with.
Scheduled to get Social Security Retirement payment Wednesday morning.

Soutxed: Good that the X-ray report came back normal. It is normal for an X-Ray Tech to take X-Rays and then have a radiologist read the film(s). That office should have sent the report to your doctor. I went through this with the MRI I had and I never heard from the medical office either. I went on the MRI place portal to find the report on there. No significant findings either. It is all about this for-profit BS. I had a tooth extracted back in September,. I received the explanation of benefits today that stated bone was removed and the root was split before taken out. That is totally wrong. It was the easiest tooth extraction I have ever had. The gum was cut very slightly, was a tooth with one root (eye tooth/ canine) and the tooth was removed with no issues whatsoever. I was in and out of the office that day. This was the place, where the dentist stated that, "I don't think you need a bone graft but if you want one it will be $900. So professional. I might just give up and not see medical/dental morons anymore. It is for-profit everywhere. So sorry for the young children and adults. Wish them well. I would be a bit nervous as to why you are having a hard time breathing. Perhaps you have asthma, COPD, etc. I hope not but maybe you need a pulmonary doctor. Feel bad for you. I cannot stand doctors myself but you need someone in an nonprofit organization where dollar signs are not priority over healthcare. Good luck Soutxed. I have 2 thumb drives and on my old computer, it was always on the E-drive when placed into the computer. Now with the laptop, it is drive D. I cannot get my information pulled up. The screen states that drive D is not valid. It is strange as the D drive worked for one day and now it does not work at all. It is awful as my thumb drive contains my resumes on it. Cannot win.
Sneakers: Best of luck with your discharge. It will be good for you to get out of there tomorrow (Tuesday).
lorando: I did not know that AAA was in every state or almost. Apparently they have been successful so they expanded everywhere. Most people with a good 2nd running vehicle don't need to pay for this kind of service. But I need it as my car is going on 13 years young. It has numerous issues with it but I am not doing a thing. Too many other expenses.
Have a nice Tuesday!!!

Hopefully, the pets haven't forgotten me.
I will have mail back to the last week of July to sort through. Michelle put the mail in a big box in my business room.
Leaving here about 9:30 AM. Told AJ I want to go grocery shopping at HEB on the way home. Have $44.00 on my debit card. Will have more money Wednesday morning when I get my Social Security Retirement payment. Just looked, will get my Boeing pension Friday, the first of November. (Knew it was the first business day of the month but not what day that was.)
Want to get home and switch from the so-so nursing home disposable diapers to what I have at home which I find considerably better.

Shame you don't live in Houston. The medical services are a lot better and I could go in and debug your computer problems. Also, no state income tax! Property tax is pretty high, or at least it was before I turned 65. Now, it's $600 and change for the school district and about the same for the city. City taxes I can pay in four installments, the school district wants it all before the end of January.
