Sneakers--Glad you are home. Also good to see a public official helped you to the scooter. AJ wasn't able to get you to the scooter/
Interesting day yesterday. Got a call from my doctor who finally read the X-Ray. Scheduled for a cardiologist the day before Thanksgiving. Wife has been talking about spending Thanksgiving with her family. Last time we did that it was a disaster. But with a doctor's appointment that day, I guess we won't be going to Victoria. But wait and see. If we go after the appointment, it will be when traffic is heavy. The wait at the checkpoint could be as much as an hour.
Our garbage did NOT get picked up yesterday. Marine across the street has his can overflowing. Should be interesting.
Took sister home from Chemo as youngest sister who brought her had to go back to SP to take care of some things there. Also sent are ballots to the election office. Hope USPS gets it there on time. Voted against all 24 charter amendments as they were never explained to us.
At 9 PM last night we got a call that she fell and was being transported back to Harlingen to the hospital. We went to be with er and she was discharged at 12:30 this morning. Wife decided she would spend the night with us, and we have to take her back to SP today. Will have to pressure wife to get back as I have a game tonight. Need to get back to work.
Have a good day.

Good Morning, soutxed. Glad to see you have an appointment on the day before Thanksgiving. You said the waiting time at the checkpoint would be up to an hour long on the holiday. How long would it take to cross the border on a normal day? Are the times about the same in both directions? I let my passport lapse. No desire to travel out of country, but did I hear they can now be renewed on-line? That should be a big convenience when your's comes due. Your SIL is having a tough time, but she does seem to be getting her chemo sessions she needs so far. Does chemo have less serious side-effects as they continue? Hope so! I was in such a fog yesterday from the shots, I was sure the World Series was starting last night. Had a fever all day. But woke up this morning feeling good as new. I called Culligan again to give the technician another shot at fixing the leak in their water softener -- not confident that it will work, but as least we'll have dates and times when he tried.
Hello, Uncle. Did you get to use some of your coupons at bowling this week? Looking forward to the World Series. No predictions, but it's a good match up. The Yankees were 1-2 against LA in regular season.
Hi, Sneakers. Glad you're home and busy catching up.

Get more to do at home. Have accumulated snail mail to go through. Last night, some of it fell off the desk to the floor right as I got dead tired. AJ started this morning complaining that I was messing up the business room I commented that I was going to clean it up ana AJ said “In how many weeks? I’ve lived with you for ten years!” AJ had dropped me off at the door at HEB and drove off to park. There is a slight incline in get into HEB and I was having trouble negotiating it. And that’s when the Harris County Constable assisted me.

Hi, Sneakers. Glad you're home and busy catching up.
Got more things to do at home than I had in the nursing home. When I left, the staff at me nursing home handed me a stack of unit dose blister packed medication cards. Fixed myself lunch yesterday. Mandarin oranges from a can and salami sandwiches. Last night, some of the accumulated snail mail fell off the desk on the floor just as I was dead tired and wanting to go to sleep. This morning, AJ saw the mail on the floor and complained. I said I was going to clean it up and AJ said “In how many weeks? I’ve lived with you for ten years!” Finished off my first gallon of sugar free tea.

Soutxed: Can you wait until the day before Thanksgiving (which is in late November this year) for your appointment with a cardiologist? It is very tough to get medical appointments. I have a major medical issue too and cannot see doc until mid-December. I was told months ago I would get called for a cancellation as I was told they get cancellations all the time. However, what people are not told is how long the cancellation list is. Either that or it is the first call of a day with a cancellation and that person who calls next who needs an appointment is seen on the date the other person just cancelled. Hope that you are feeling better. I would relax and stay at home this Thanksgiving.
lorando: Good that you are feeling better. I have heard that people who get the flu and Covid vac's at the same time get very sick. I don't get ill from the flu shot (but I used to) and the Covid is rather mixed (sometimes I am ill and other times I am not). I would never get them together. I have not decided for this year if I am going to bother with any vac's, due to the place where I currently exist with all the weed and vaping. Extremely unhealthy. I need surgery too but that is put off until I have better living quarters. You really lucked out with where you live and not having to deal with horrible tenants.
Sneakers: Good that you are home. Now you can organize and do what you want to do.
Uncle: I hope that you have had a good week thus far. I think curling is tonight (Wednesday). Enjoy.
Have a nice evening (Wednesday) or nice Thursday.

Went about halfway through my accumulated mail. So far, I have found a check for $60.29 that I can’t figure out why I got it but it is probably legitimate.

I haven't heard that and our doctor said there aren't any issues getting both shots.

Nearly gone through one box of mail, only about an inch left.Filtered through it and pulled out all the important looking things. Hands are tired from ripping open envelopes. Have taken all my bedtime meds except the clonazepam, which will make me fall asleep soon after taking most times.
I got AJ scheduled to take me to the bank tomorrow morning to deposit a check. In the afternoon, the home health nurse is coming.
Had mandarin oranges and Stouffer’s Meat Lover’s Lasagna for supper. Price of it was over $5 in July and under $5 in October.
Got tired of receiving Trump campaign SPAM on the cell phone so I unsubscribed.

Ed: It depends on someone's immune response. I work at a pharmacy and therefore I hear complaints about people stating that they wish that they got one vaccine at a time. Getting both the flu and Covid vaccinations can and do make some people ill. I heard the same thing from customers there last year about the same issue. Your doc is in the business to give out vaccines.

My Tuesday bowling didn't go all the well. I was just a bit below my average. On the other hand, we were playing a very good team and didn't have much of a change of winning any games anyway. My Wednesday team got it's first loss. We did have two spares filling in and I had a bad game. We'll try again next week. I've forgot to mention, I've got Wednesday, Thursday and Friday off this week. So don't have to go to bed early after bowling, curling or blood donation. I'll be getting my winter tires put on Thursday. As it turns out, not that necessary, but you never know. soutxed, nice to know the X-Ray results showed nothing unusual. Hopefully the cardiologist visit will go well. Sounds like you know when to pause at the gym, then over overwhelmed. Do hope your breathing problem is temporary. If a school bus can get the license plates of drivers that pass buses while they are stopped, it sure could help things. sneakers (Metro Houston), glad you hear you're finally home. That is the best place to be! lorando (NW PA), we might find an other bowling to replace our departed teammate. I don't think we really have to. I'm happy with what we have. The season just isn't the same due to my teammate having knee surgery in August anyway. Yes, the games do go faster, since we only have two on our side playing. This week, the other team only had 4 of the 5 there. An early evening is usually welcomed at bowling. I did get the coupons I had ordered. They will come in handy when roads are bad and I get home late on bowling days. On days like that, I'll hopefully have time to feed the cat, change clothes for bowling and head to the bowling alley. A person can bowl and have supper at the same time. Very hard to do that while curling. Thankfully curling starts 30 minutes later and is closer to my home. They say the Yankees have better pitching. That is what usually wins the world series. patty7841, yes, curling was tonight (Wednesday). We didn't fair well, but that's okay. Had two subs, as 2 of our players were away. Happy Hump Day! Take care everyone.

Spent all day yesterday trying get into my brokerage account feeding myself, or sorting through accumulated snail mail. Hands are sore from ripping open envelopes. Going to have to get a new trash bag soon, the trash can is full and so is the shredder bon, My trash bag is bigger than the trash can so I know there is enough space.

Patty--Since I have had two electrocardiograms the last two weeks, I am not that worried about heart issues. Cardiologist may give me a stress test. I avoided taking two shots at the same time so if I do get sick, I will know which one made me ill. Having an appointment the day before Thanksgiving may mean we cannot be with our children and grandchildren for the holiday. But will wait and see. If we stay home wife wants to have some of her family together for TG, so it would not be relaxing. I have posted about the last TG we stayed home, and it was not what we expected.
Lorando--The checkpoint is about 100 miles north of the border. BP stops everyone and ask if we are US citizens. Also, the drug dog sniffs the vehicle. There was a bill in Congress which would require a passport to get through the checkpoint, but it never reached a vote. I can understand getting confused. We let our passport lapse when it was said that her birth certificate was not a valid ID and there were stories of some Hispanics who were delivered by a midwife were deported. Came from a criminal case where several midwives here in south Texas were convicted for altering birth certificates for Mexican nationals claiming their baby was born in the US so it could be a citizen. Started with Obama and then Trump continued it.
Uncle--What are the holidays to give you a long weekend? Whose average is used when you are missing a teammate. Saw something about a Canadian eleciton coming up and some want a new PM.
Sneakers--Do you have a letter opener or you doing it by hand? I have several spreads around the house. Or you could use a sharp knife to open and it may spare your hands. Guess you better clean up the mess. I too am tired of political ads since we have already voted.
Took SIL home to SP after she spent the night with us since she left the ER at 1 AM. Spent the afternoon at caretaker sister's home. SIL said she is not doing well and may discontinue with the the Chemo treatment. If this is true then wife and youngest sister will probably have to spend a lot of time over the next few weeks or months taking care of her, much as they did with oldest sister two years ago. Hopefully we can get a provider but seems like Medicare in the valley is making it harder and there is a shortage of providers.
Garbage still not picked up. If not today, then tomorrow is regular pickup day. If they miss us tomorrow, then our block will demand a 25% discount on the garbage bill.
Informed delivery showed three items, two of which were bills but no mail. Today's shows one item that didn't photograph, probably a campaign mail.
Best part of the day was the freshman game I worked at the big stadium. Learned how to use the new fancy lights, but never got a chance to do anything but turn them off.

Good Afternoon, Soutxed. That must be a huge inconvenience, to say the least, for the people who live in the Rio Grande Valley. Wouldn't that be something if an American had to show a passport to travel within his own state. I'm sure there two sides to the story, but Yikes!! Have you ever had a stress test before? They seem to be very common, and any time they can get info being invasive is a plus. Good luck. Culligan man was back again this morning. Same results - couldn't find the leak, but tightened everything. I'll probably call for service again next week, before visiting their storefront, which is only a mile or two away.
Hello Uncle. Just finished loading my tires into the back of my car. They're on rims, and they get heavier every year, or more likely, I get weaker. Have an appointment to have them mounted on Tuesday. I'll have to take them off again in a few months, because I leave for Florida in February. I'll have to do some pushups between now and then. I second what soutxed said about getting sick of our election process. Constant text message, mail, phone calls, advertisements. 43 or 44 states are solidly behind one candidate or the other, but the other 6 or 7, including Pennsylvania are the "Battleground States" that could go either way. So that's where the money goes, and the candidates spend most of their time here, and in Michigan, Wisconsin, North Carolina, Georgia, Arizona, and I think I forgot one. You'll no doubt go through the same thing when Canada has it's next election. It's a small price to pay for the freedoms we have.
Hi, Patty - Yep, we all make our decisions about vaccines based on our experience, observations, science, and media. Enjoy your day. It's a beauty here, not a cloud to be seen and 54 degrees.
Howdy, Sneakers. Glad to hear the grocery prices are showing a few signs of deflating. Stouffers 18oz Meat Lovers Lasagna is $5.79 here at Giant Eagle. It might be lower at other stores. You made quick work of the box of mail that was waiting for you to get home, and a check to boot! If I left for 3 months, I'd probably fewer than 20 pieces of mail that were worth opening--and no checks! Thanks for the reminder about trash day. I'll be making a deposit into the dumpster today, before it's collected in the morning.

I am opening the letters by hand, no letter opener. The only things on the floor that doesn’t belong there are a stack of nursing home blister packed medication cards and a couple of magazines. I suffer through the political ads because I have not voted yet.Probably will wait until Election Day because the nearest early voting place is about five miles away.

I was quoting the price for an eighteen=ounce package of Stouffer’s Meat Lovers’ Lasagna if you have a store employee pull it and bring it to your vehicle. It is only $4.66 if you go in, pull it out of the freezer, and have a cashier ring it up. I didn’t do much mail this afternoon. Started out with a trip to HEB, then had Medicare Home Health visit, then I had lunch to almost four o’clock. Michelle asked when I wanted supper and I said I was in no hurry. Tuesday and Friday are trash days here. Will only have the can mandarin oranges came in and the plastic tub that HEB beef pastrami came in.
