Not bad so far. Patty, changing your avatar shouldn't take real long. Access your profile page from the profile button at the top, select "edit profile" at the right side of the page, and use the "Upload . . ." tool over at the right of that page to select a photo from your computer. If you don't have it on your current computer (remembering you had motherboard issues and may have lost it), you can download it from your GB profile pictures by clicking on the actual picture in your profile over there, currently: Or you can probably download that one!

Hi: Sneakers: I have not slept well the last two nights myself. So much going on. I cannot believe how much work you have left to do on your house. Thank goodness you have gotten the aid so that you could and can fix it and still live in it. It would have been soooo difficult to have to start all over again. You will get there. Have a wonderful weekend Everyone. Be happy, healthy and safe. Thanks sooooo much for stopping by. Other than not having most of the inside doors (AJ has bought them, and he's sanding them down and staining them), the mopboards (they're installed in my business room), my walk-in shower, and three kitchen cabinets that's about all we have to do.
We've got some electrical stuff to do, but I think that will go as soon as the big check clears. They have already given me partial credit for it, and the rest will likely happen in Monday night's batch processing. If it doesn't, I have plenty of credit cards at the ready. Some of the windows are covered in tape where Harvey broke them, but we're planning to do them all because they're single pane windows that are not energy-efficient at all. The exterior doors are warped and hard to open and close, and they are going to get replaced. I commented to AJ about one of them, "That door is the ugliest thing in the house!" And we still have that water heater. The old one still works, but they put in for a replacement because they are more likely than not to die in a few months. I'm going to spend more for a hybrid water heater, they are supposed to pay for themselves in one to two years.
On second thought, we have a lot of stuff still to go. But we've got walls and flooring. We weren't that way in early September.
Our goal is to have the house better than it was November 6, 2014 (the day we started moving in). And I think we'll easily succeed!

AJ has assembled the kitchen cabinets, it's now a matter of hanging them on the wall.

Before and After:
Before (October 2017):
After (January 2018):
The "after" looks much better than the "before," doesn't it? Except now we have a clothes basket (most of the ones that didn't get flooded were used to store other things that weren't flooded).

Pretty good Holy Saturday today so far.
Decided to go to bed after the 9:00 PM news was over. Had no trouble going to sleep, unlike the night before.
Cats were in my bed (Fiona and Tiger), but the cats slept on their side of the bed and I slept on mine. I think Tiger (shown below) lives on the bed, only getting off the bed to drink, eat, and use the litter box.
Woke up a bit after 8:00 AM. Wore yesterday's T-shirt and shorts, and put on a pair of red, black, and white Nike hightops.
Turned on the business room TV and watched the ABC 13 local news until 10:00 AM. Ever since, I've been listening to ripped CDs. Fortunate that I finished ripping all 2414 of them April 2016 (sixteen months before Harvey). Roughly 600 of the physical discs survived Harvey's flood waters. AJ said "you had about 2500" and he was pretty much right.
Had a liter of Sodastream Diet Dr Pete this morning and early afternoon. Now, I'm going through a liter of Sodastream Diet Ginger Ale. I think it will be one of my "for a change of pace" flavors. I'm usually a drinker of brown pop anyway.
My stockbroker has a feature on their Web site that analyzes your stock portfolio for various measures (diversification, performance, analyst ratings, etc.). I got the results as a PDF file. I think I'm going to save it at the end of each month. I also get two credit reports and scores from Credit Karma, and I've been saving them at the end of the month every month since May 2015.
Around noon, Chelsea brought in a fruit bowl for me (Fuji apple chunks, mandarin orange sections, cantaloupe, and grapes). I went in the kitchen to get a fork to eat them. Chelsea wondered why I didn't pick them up with my fingers, then I told her I don't want fruit juice all over the ThinkPad's keyboard.
Lunch today, after the fruit bowl, was a Stouffer's Stuffed Peppers frozen entrée (the size with two peppers), two slices of lowfat Colby Jack cheese, and an 11.5-ounce can of V-8 Original juice.
USPS brought a stack of stuff for Chelsea. All I got was a checkbook for Capital One 360. I couldn't find the one I had, so I ordered another one (fifty checks for $5). Turns out that I had it filed away and couldn't find it. Even though it was in a file folder plainly labeled "Capital One." Go figure.
In about another hour, I can turn on the ABC 13 early evening news and then stand by for my favorite movie of all time ("The Ten Commandments," 1956 version) to come on. Not sure where I'm going to watch it. I'm virtually guaranteed the TV in the business room, but the one in the living room has a 65" screen. Last year, I watched it in the hospital. Single patient room, so no sick roommate to drive crazy.

Pretty good.
I watched "The Ten Commandments" in the business room, then during one of the commercial breaks I switched to the living room.
As of right now, we're in a commercial break. Moses just came down from the mountain after seeing the burning bush that was not consumed.
On Holy Saturday 2017, I was in the hospital with an open wound on my left foot that was infected. Tonight's a lot better!
AJ and Chelsea are having a night out, and I'm here with Isaiah.

I think the last time I counted them I had 45 pairs of sneakers. Mostly Converse and Nike (of course, guess what athletic gear company I have stock in?). A majority of them hightops. Some were above the flood waters, others I bought post-Harvey. The pair I have on now was a post-Harvey acquisition.
FWIW, to the right of the "after" picture is a missing door. AJ bought the doors, nearly every day he does finishing sanding and staining on them.
Since there is no door, the pets can wander in and out freely. One night, I had every one of them in there except Tommy. And you wouldn't want Tommy in there, he meows all the time. Vet says there's nothing wrong with him, he's just trying to talk but mostly only one thing comes out. Although he has a number of different meows that he makes. AJ just complains about "Loudmouth." I thought he was complaining about Chelsea, but he said "No! Tommy!"
