When I was a kid, Lawsons was the convenience store everywhere I went in Ohio. None that I went to offered gas, but I understand there were some that did. They're long gone, though I still see their distinctive buildings around. This is typical from my memory: And of course their jingle, Roll on, Big O: I remember Lawson's, they've been gone a long time.

Subway would be the ONLY locally one here and they are HORRIBLE. Miami deals in the BEST Cubans, Not Hoagies, therefore Wawa is fer sure Number One.

Of course it's a regional thing. What has happened in the Delaware Valley WaWa's is a disgrace. For decades they were the place to go for fresh cold cuts. I'm not sure when they started making hoagies, probably the 1980's.
At times their hoagies would rival some of the better hoagies shops but it varied by store and the person making them. WaWa's have basically become Sheetz. Neither has slicers in their stores. WaWa gets theirs shipped in pre-sliced from NJ. WaWa's decision to stop carrying Amoroso's delivered fresh Italian rolls daily was a huge mistake. WaWa had an advantage over other convenience stores and blew it.
Subway is horrible and very misleading with their "Eat Fresh" campaign. In reality nothing there is fresh. Not even those nasty smelling rolls they bake in house as they are from frozen dough. Their meats are the biggest joke. They are the lowest quality & don't get me started on their tuna. It is so gross.
Don't you have LaSada's Hoagies in your area? They're from DelCo and the original family moved to Florida years ago & opened several hoagie shops. They use to get their rolls shipped in but not sure about now.

Cool, there are really NO Sunocos in this part of the USA or even Areas that I normally visit in my 400 miles Triangle within the State.

Dinner for Us Tonite was two free Shorty Hoagies from Wawa, from the day they Opened I had been nursing those two tickets.
Man o Man ... what a delight !!! I will NOT EVER MIND paying for more next time, no wonder my friend Marcos has fallen in love with the Hoagies there, he sent Subway packing 2 months ago and wenT Wawa all the Way.
I understand why their strategy is cheap gasoline...Get the competition to lower their prices, and get people inside their Stores for the Food delights in there !!
So happy they're Finally so close to us !!!
